On Sunday, the Brigance Brigade Foundation, created by former Ravens player O.J. Brigance and his wife, Chanda, will host the fifth annual Brigance Brigade Foundation 5.7K Championship Race & 1.57 Mile Family Run/Walk at Canton Waterfront Park. The event, which will celebrate the start of ALS Awareness Month, will include three racing events and a celebration village featuring music, food and beverages for purchase, and games. Smith, Locke to competein all-star basketball game
Jalen Smith (Mount Saint Joseph) and Noah Locke (McDonogh) will play in the 45th annual Capital Classic High School All-Star Game, set for 8 p.m. Friday at Catholic University in Washington. Smith, who was The Baltimore Sun's All-Metro Player of the Year this past season, and Locke, an All-Metro selection, were named to the U.S. All-Stars and will go up against the Capital All-Stars. Smith will begin playing at Maryland next season while Locke is headed to Florida. Two other Maryland recruits, Serrel Smith (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Aaron Wiggins (High Point, N.C.), will join them on the U.S. team. At 6 p.m., the Suburban All-Stars will play the District All-Stars. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults with a limited amount of VIP courtside seats available. 3-star offensive linemancommits to Maryland
Three-star offensive lineman Parker Moorer committed to Maryland on Monday, the first lineman recruit in the Terps' Class of 2019. "I am very blessed and honored to announce that I am committing to the University of Maryland to continue my academic and football career," the Mallard Creek (N.C.) junior standout wrote on Twitter. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Moorer, Maryland's fourth three-star recruit, is rated the No. 52 strong-side defensive end prospect nationally in the 247Sports.com Composite rankings but is expected to play on the other side of the ball in College Park. First-year offensive line coach Bryan Stinespring was Maryland's lead recruiter on Moorer, who got a Terps offer in March and also claimed offers from Louisville, Temple and West Virginia, among others.

Women's lacrosse: Johns Hopkins freshman Trinity McPherson (Catonsville) was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week. Maryland freshman midfielder Grace Griffin (Liberty) was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Men's lacrosse: Stevenson (9-6, 7-0 MAC Commonwealth) set a single-game program record for goals in a 33-7 league victory over Hood (7-7, 1-6). JT Thelen led the Mustangs with eight goals. ... Corey Gwinn scored four goals as seventh ranked Salisbury (14-3, 7-1 CAC) concluded regular season play defeating Capital Athletic Conference opponent St. Mary's, 17-2.
Baseball: Salisbury senior pitcher Connor Reeves (John Carroll) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Pitcher of the Week.
Men's golf: McDaniel senior Brandon Vance shot 72 to finish with a two-day score of 145 and win the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational in Moosic, Pa. The Green Terror also captured the team title, finishing with a 36-hole score of 591 to win the 12-team tournament by 25 strokes. Brandon Vance was named the Centennial Conference Golfer of the Week.
Women's golf: Maryland sophomore Xiaolin Tian was named to the All-Big Ten second team. Tian finished tied for second in the Big Ten championship last weekend. She finished with a combined score of 211 (-5), shooting a season-low 18-hole score of 67 (-5) in the second round.
Football: Morgan State, under the guidance of interim coach Ernest T. Jones, will hold its spring game Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hughes Stadium. Admission is free.

Capitals to host Game 1of second round Thursday
The series-opening game of the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference semifinals between the Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins will be Thursday at 7p.m. at Capital One Arena in Washington. Game 1 will be televised on NBC Sports Network. A complete second round schedule will be announced later. The series will be the 11th between the Capitals and the Penguins in the playoffs, the most in franchise history. Washington will host Game 1, Game 2 and, if necessary, games 5 and 7. A limited number of Capitals individual game tickets for all four possible home games are available by calling 800-745-3000 or by going to WashingtonCaps.com.
